Can You Get a HydraFacial if You Have Active Acne?

Can You Get a HydraFacial if You Have Active Acne?

The short answer is: Yes, but with modifications. HydraFacial is excellent for acne-prone skin because it thoroughly cleanses and extracts without manual squeezing.

How It Helps Acne

The vortex suction gently removes sebum and dead skin cells that cause blockages. The salicylic acid peel component helps to reduce inflammation and clear pores deeply.

When It Is Not Recommended

If you have severe cystic acne or highly inflamed, painful lesions, a standard HydraFacial might be too stimulating. In these cases, your dermatologist will likely recommend calming the active inflammation first using medical therapies or targeted chemical peels before introducing hydradermabrasion.

Customisation is Key

For active breakouts, we skip aggressive exfoliation and focus on gentle extraction, followed by Blue LED light therapy to target acne-causing bacteria and calm the skin.
